About to commence a concours restoration

A running and functional original right hand drive cabriolet, having spent some of its later years in the U.S., has now returned to Europe. This car will be a coveted collector car, following a comprehensive restoration by Cardock Classics. The new owner may choose period Mercedes colour combinations, which will see the finished car exceed the original very high standards of Mercedes in 1963, when this special cabriolet rolled off the production line.

The 300SE employed a fuel-injected version of Mercedes-Benz’s 2,996cc and 170bhp engine. Featuring Mercedes-Benz’s hydro-pneumatic self-levelling system, the 300SE was well capable of speeds of 120mph.

With the much-preferred automatic gearbox and power steering, the car drives effortlessly; it can be easily argued that the Mercedes 300 SE was a car before its time.

Today, classic Mercedes cabriolets are highly sought after and it is expected that this Cardock Classics restoration will yield the finest RHD example in the world.
